Eligibility Criteria
Participants: Aged 18+ university undergraduate students in Saudi Arabia. Apply through valid university email address. Student(s) must be currently enrolled in a university or college (Can be from different universities) at the time of the submission deadline. Note: Students registering using non university E-mail will be disqualified.
Student Teams: A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 university students per team.
Theme: Saudi Culture & Heritage.
The submissions will go through two levels of judging: In the first round, participants will submit their storyboard, envisioned game artwork and the game relation to the Saudi heritage and culture. Finalists will be determined and required to create a coded playable PC game. In the finals, one winner for each category will be selected.
Challenge Categories
Real-World Games: Games that depict real-world Saudi cultural heritage, including historical events, traditional art, shared values, and storytelling elements. For example National Day, Founding Day etc.
Location-Based Games: Games that enhance players' experiences at Saudi heritage sites by combining gaming elements with real-world heritage exploration, offering interactive and educational opportunities to learn about cultural heritage in specific locations for e.g. Diriyah, Al Ula etc.
Discovery Games: Games that involve players in the legacy of physical artifacts, history, archaeology, and art, providing insights into Saudi cultural heritage through virtual museum experiences, historical sites, and archaeological discoveries. For example UNESCO sites in Saudi Arabia.
